Qualification Testing

Qualification testing is a verification activity undertaken by ICE on many designs to ensure the equipment is fit for purpose in the installed environment. Qualification testing often involves a rigorous set of tests to EMI, Environmental, and other regulatory standards.

Electromagnetic Compatibility

ICE routinely designs controllers required to meet the most demanding EMI environments. We are familiar with many of the standards, procedures, and design practices required to achieve compliance. This compliance is demonstrated through the use of in-house testing and testing from approved independent test labs. The ICE engineering staff has been recognized for their contribution to the EMC trade journals as well as being a regular contributor to SC-135, the committee responsible for maintaining DO-160.

Highly Accelerated Life Testing

HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Testing) is used by ICE on critical projects as a means of addressing reliability from the onset of project development. A typical ICE HALT Test program consists of determining the operating and destruct temperature and vibration limits. Testing is then performed over a number of thermal cycles and eventually this testing is combined with simultaneous 3-axis random vibration. The intent of this testing is to precipitate failures that could reveal any design weakness so that necessary design changes can be incorporated prior to a production build and to help establish production level test criteria.
